I manage the place for her, so myself and 1 other staff volunteered to stay working, we created a To-Go version of our business. I create the guidelines, post them update the website, social media, etc, discuss it with staff, reiterate how important it is to follow guidelines. Guideline 1…staff was going to wear masks. Well Day 1 of her being back after 2 months off…she says she’s not wearing a mask, doesn’t feel she needs to, that all these “silly rules” don’t make sense. I was flabbergasted. Still am. It’s been 2 weeks. All of her staff wear masks. She doesn’t. I’m mad for so many different reasons…but what the hell am I supposed to do. It’s her place. I told her how stupid I felt giving staff directions, making public promises to customers. Hell, I just visited the pharmacy inside a supermarket here in NorCal, and even one of the pharmacists had their mask pulled down below their nose. Like forsake, if any of the supermarket employees should understand the mechanism by which masks work, it would be the pharmacists. Good luck with your handful as well!
