She is superb in all regards. Family of the great Kohno dynasty of guitar building, So is the apparent heir. I will write more as time presents itself. So Kimishima is the grandson of legendary Japanese luthier Masaru Kohno. He worked for Masaki Sakurai for the past 15 years until he finally decided to create his own models, which are part of the Kohno Guitar Manufacturing lineup. Kimishima benefits from the research and experience of Masaru Kohno and Masaki Sakurai to continue the quality of their guitars but also to challenge new techniques and develop new models. Kimishima, much like his great predecessors, pays particular attention to the details and finish of the guitar. The “Stella” model by So Kimishima pays homage to the legendary Masaru Kohno guitars of the 1950s and 60s, capturing the essence of the great family of guitar builders. The guitar was well cared for, just a bit too big for the previous owner. He has since moved to a 640mm scale. Play and set up are excellent. Call me directly with any questions. We record everything flat with just a touch of Reverb to relieve dryness. My goal is to record the guitar as realistically as is possible. My speaking also serves to give you my first impressions and to also give you a balance of the engineering (or lack thereof) versus the sound of the guitar.
